Event Program
The panel “Constructed Identities: Military Masculinity and Colonized Femininity During and After the Wars” will take place as part of The Society for Italian Studies Biennial Conference 2026, hosted by Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin. The session explores the cultural construction of gendered identities in relation to war, demilitarization, colonial memory, and postwar narratives. Through literary and historical perspectives, the panel investigates how masculinity and femininity are shaped, destabilized, and reconfigured in the aftermath of conflict and within the legacy of Italian colonial experience.
